Walk: Presidio Andy Goldsworthys, Trader Joe's
Distance: 5 Miles
Walked on Andy Goldsworthy's Wood Line (2011), his site specific installation made from fallen Eucalyptus trees in the Presidio. It was so meditative having to keep my focus and footing on top of the serpentine line all the way down the hill until it ended.
Then walked to another of his Presidio installations, Spire (2008), made from the trunks of dying Cypress trees which had been cleared by the Presidio.
I (sort of) keep trying to make myself like or at least admire it, but, so far no luck. What I do admire is the exceptional documentary on Andy Goldsworthy, Rivers and Tides. Filmed in 2001 it still stands as one of the best art films ever. One reviewer said of it an extraordinarily spiritually literate documentary about one of the world's greatest nature artists.
Then home to find that another Andy, our house gardner (see Day 2/197), had made one of his random appearances and brought a new plant to our front door.
