AOA Art -- Day 105

Every time I go to a lecture on the AOA (Art of Africa, Oceania and the Americas) it is with the hope that this will be the one that hooks me.  But, as happened today, I usually respond like the greeting card dog who looks at his people talking to him and hears, "Blah, Blah, Blah, Fido...."  I hear something like "We think it could have been from, We think it was used for, We think its religious significance was, Blah, Blah, Blah..."  To make matters worse, when an AOA object calls to me, more often than not, it is relatively recent like the strong, bold, geometric mask from the deYoung collection below.
