My Back Yard (1) - Palace of Fine Arts, Herons, Crissy Field - Day 9

Walk: Richardson Motors to Fort Point and back home
Distance: 7 miles round trip

It was annual check up day for my car at its shop 9 blocks away.



After dropping it off, I walked the lower part of 'my backyard' near the water, coming first to the Palace of Fine Arts 4 blocks from Richardson Motors.

Always serenely beautiful, but the surprise for me today was a clump of trees filled with nesting Egrets and Black-crowned Night Herons.


Four blocks across Marina Boulevard and then on to one of the world's greatest urban walks (or runs or bike rides).

Out to the old Civil War Fort Point (way out there on the left) at the base of Golden Gate Bridge


Then back to the City.

And the only difficult part - 7 blocks straight up. Then on to yoga...
